Boston Celtics & Philadelphia 76ers Hit London!
Talk about a “STATEMENT GAME” for the NBA! When the Boston Celtics (33-10) meet up with the Philadelphia 76ers (19-19) at O2 arena in London at 3 pm ET, we will be seeing two of most exciting young teams, not only in the East, but in all of the NBA go at it. The game takes place overseas as the rapidly growing league tries to expand its coverage globally. It’s the first game in London for the NBA since last season when the Denver Nuggets beat the Indiana Pacers on January 12, 2017.
Boston Celtics & Philadelphia 76ers – Everything You Need To Know.
This is the third matchup of the season for these 2 teams, and so far the Celtics have had the Sixers number, beating them in the first 2 matchups. While the Sixers have looked scrappy in both of the previous matchups, the Celtics have still looked like the team to beat in the East (sorry Lebron James). Both teams enter the game on a hot streak with Sixers winning 4 out of their last 5 games and the Celtics going a perfect 5 for 5 in the same stretch. Even though the Sixers average more points a game than the Celtics (108.6 to 102.7), the Celtics remarkably only give up on average 97.6 points a game while the Boys from Philly average a high 107.9.
Expect Joel Embiid of the Sixers to go off during this game. There are not many guys in the league who love the big stages like this guy. Anytime he is on national television, “The Process” steps up, so expect him to easily get a double double this game. Also expect big games from Ben Simmons of the Sixers and Jayson Tatum of the Celtics, as both are vying for the Rookie of the Year award and would love to one-up the other. This is as good as it gets for a Thursday game in the NBA as 2 of the most exciting teams in the NBA for years to come go at it overseas.
