It’s Game Five of this exciting first round match-up between the Utah Jazz and Denver Nuggets. After the Nuggets won an OT thriller in game one, the Jazz have rattled off 3 straight wins and now Denver is on the brink of elimination. Denver swept the season series, 3-0, so this series is far from over.
Jazz
Jazz guard, Donovan Mitchell, has looked like the second coming of Michael Jordan is this series. Mitchell has scored 50+ points in 2 games this series which was done by Michael Jordan when this league was his. Denver has not found a way to stop Mitchell in any of the 4 previous games and I don’t expect that to change in game 5. He should easily score 30+ in a fast paced game. With all the shooting these two teams have done in this series, Rudy Gobert should get more rebounds than his normal average.
Nuggets
Denver guard, Jamal Murray, has tried to counter Donovan Mitchell as best as he could this series and did so in games one and four. He scored 36 and 50 in those two games so the Nuggets need to ride his hot hand if they want to push this series to Game 6. Murray will also need a big game from his superstar center, Nikola Jokic. Jokic has played pretty well in this series, scoring 28+ in 3 of the 4 games, but it has not been enough. At this point, he knows he needs to have a monster game five for his team to win. So expect big performances from Murray and Jokic that will force a game 6.
