Monday night’s matchup of the Los Angeles Rams vs San Francisco 49ers features a Super Bowl contending team and a team that hopes to flip the story of their season and make a playoff push. The Rams have made some big trades and signings to strengthen the team. Meanwhile, San Francisco has waited for George Kittle and Jimmy Garoppolo to overcome injuries. They are three games out of the seventh wild card spot in the NFC.
This season, San Francisco is 0-4 at home, while Los Angles is 4-0 on the road. However, the 49ers have four consecutive wins over the Rams.

This week the Rams signed wide-receiver Odell Becham Jr., but they also lost Robert Woods for the season to an ACL tear. Their wide-receiver core now consists of Cooper Kupp, Odell Becham Jr, and Van Jefferson.
The Rams made this decision after a devastating loss to the Tennesee Titans. The final score was 28-16 and it didn’t even feel that close. The Rams’ last touchdown came with 24 seconds left in the game.
Matt Stafford has 2,771 passing yards on the season which was first in the league. The Rams average just shy of 400 yards per game. They also rank fifth in scoring offense with just under 30 points per game.

San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers are coming off of a loss at home to the Kyler Murray-less Arizona Cardinals. Although they lost 31-17, the biggest takeaway from the game for the 49ers was that George Kittle returned and had a phenomenal game. However, Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk did not have great performances.
The loss added to frustrations in San Francisco. “I definitely think there’s a big hunger to win,” Kyle Shanahan said. “I think there’s a huge sense of urgency. … There’s a different type of disappointment, a different type of frustration. But the hunger, the energy, that’s all still there.”
On a positive note, however, Jimmy Garoppolo currently has two consecutive 300-yard passing games. Additionally, the 49ers’ defense averages 2.3 sacks per game, but just 0.6 takeaways per game.
