WWE Raw 6/15 Show Preview
It’s the night after the Backlash pay per view and I have to admit, the Raw brand matches were better than expected. While Edge and Randy Orton did not have “The Greatest Wrestling Match Ever,” the bout was still fantastic. Orton came out on top and with news that Edge suffered a severe injury during this match, this feud looks to be over for now. WWE Champion Drew McIntyre retained his championship against Bobby Lashley after Lashley’s wife, Lana, inadvertently distracted Lashley and he was hit with a Claymore from McIntyre for the win. Asuka is still the Raw’s Women Champion after she and Nia Jax were both counted out so that match ended in a draw. And on the pre-show, Apollo Crews successfully defended his United States Championship against Andrade.
Not much has been promoted for this week’s Raw besides Rey Mysterio confronting Seth Rollins. Mysterio’s son, Dominick, will accompany his father to Raw in an attempt to get some revenge against Rollins after he almost ended Rey Mysterio’s career. WWE announced its next pay per view will be Extreme Rules so expect Raw to start building towards that on this episode.
Rey Mysterio Confronts Seth Rollins
Seth Rollins has invited Rey Mysterio and his son, Dominick, to Raw this week and it looks like the Mysterio family will be accepting the invitation. A confrontation between Rollins and Mysterio is long overdue so that looks to be happening on this show. Rollins has taunted Mysterio ever since Rollins nearly ended Mysterio’s career over a month ago. The way this angle is playing out, it looks like we could be nearing the in-ring debut of Mysterio’s son, Dominick. With Rollins’ having his disciples in tow at all times, Dominick is looking to even the odds and help his father. This looks to all be leading to an Extreme Rules match at the Extreme Rules pay per view. It could possibly be Rollins, Murphy, and Austin Theory against Mysterio, Dominick, and Rollins’ other adversary, Aleister Black.
What’s Next For The Raw Women’s Division?
Asuka is still the Raw Women’s Champion after Backlash as she and Nia Jax were both counted out in their match. Since there was no resolution to their issues, this feud will probably continue heading towards Extreme Rules. But that is not a given now that Charlotte is back on the Raw roster permanently. Charlotte is the biggest women’s star in WWE and she will always be prominently featured. So with that being said, I could see her being inserted into this feud. With all the changes being made behind the scenes in WWE, anything can happen in the coming weeks on Raw. Raw has been treading water in the ratings so putting the Women’s Championship on Charlotte is a big possibility. Tonight’s Raw should provide us with a glimpse of what’s to come.
