Monday Night Raw Wrestling Predictions

WWE Raw 7/27 Show Preview

This week’s edition of Raw is all about The Horror Show At Extreme Rules rematches. Asuka will defend her Women’s title once again against Sasha Banks and Drew McIntyre will face Dolph Ziggler a week after defeating him at the event. By having these matches only one week after Extreme Rules, it shows that The Horror Show At Extreme Rules was almost a pointless show. I understand WWE is trying to get their ratings up on Monday nights but this is not the way to do it. That’s a bad narrative for WWE as they need the revenue from the WWE Network and if those shows don’t matter, why should fans subscribe?

There are two other segments being for Raw as well. Andrade & Angel Garza, The Viking Raiders, and Ricochet & Cedric Alexander will battle it out to determine who will face the Raw Tag Team Champions, The Street Profits, at Summerslam. Lastly, Randy Orton will tell the wresting world who he has his eyes set on next.

Asuka vs. Sasha Banks – Raw Women’s Championship Match

Asuka and Sasha Banks will go to war one final time for the Raw Women’s Championship Monday night. After the chaotic ending to their match last week at The Horror Show At Extreme Rules, this match will absolutely have a definitive winner. Bank’s partner, Bayley, threw on a referee shirt and made a false 3 count to “crown” Banks the new champion last week. Due to this, Stephanie McMahon made a surprise appearance on Raw last week to tell Banks she is not the champion and that she has to win this match on her own and that any silly business from Bayley will result in her losing this match.

Just like I said last week, this match can go either way. Both women make great, legitimate champions and have storylines ready for them on the other side of this feud. But as far as ratings and legit star power go, Sasha Banks would be the best choice. A winner take all match between her and Bayley would be the biggest match WWE can give the us this summer, whether it be at Summerslam or the much rumored Evolution 2. Regardless, we are in for another great match between these two elite talents.

Drew McIntyre vs. Dolph Ziggler

I feel bad for Dolph Ziggler. He has always been a great talent for the WWE but has not been a credible heavyweight title competitor in years. But for some reason, WWE keeps putting him up against their main champions when fans already know the outcome will be Ziggler losing again. And while most, if not all, the matches Ziggler competes in are entertaining, the excitement is taken away once the bell rings because we already know who the winner will be.

So now he has another match against WWE Champion, Drew McIntyre, after McIntyre emphatically beat him last week. There’s no point in having this match. The WWE has beat Ziggler down so much that he has no credibility. The fact that the match was changed last minute to a non title match could mean that Ziggler could win in some sort of “50/50” booking but we all know that at no point, now or in the future, will Ziggler become World Champion. Does he deserve better? Yes. Will that happen? Unfortunately, no.
