Monday Night Raw Wrestling Predictions

WWE Raw 7/20 Show Preview

Monday Night Raw should be very interesting after the events of The Horror Show At Extreme Rules. The event Sunday night was one of the most chaotic in recent memory, especially for the Raw brand. The red brand has two championships where we don’t know who is the TRUE champion which needs to be addressed tonight. Essentially, wrestling fans have a lot of questions after last night’s show and hopefully they get their answers on the 7/20 episode. The big match and only match being promoted for the show is Randy Orton against The Big Show in an Unsanctioned Match.

Randy Orton vs. The Big Show – Unsanctioned Match

Randy Orton and The Big Show are two of the longest tenured superstars in the WWE today and have had many battles in the past. And while I understand the match is happening because Big Show is trying to avenge Orton’s attacks to Big Show’s friends, Edge & Christian, no one wants to see these two share a ring together for the millionth time. Most wrestling fans can agree that Big Show has become stale character in recent years due to all the back and forth between him being a face and a heel. His character hasn’t been consistent in maybe a decade so any story he’s involved in usually pretty boring.

Randy Orton on the other hand is doing some of the best work of his long, storied career. His storyline with Edge took him to a whole other level and now he’s must see TV again. So hopefully the mini feud between him and Big Show ends after this show and Orton moves on to bigger and better things. I expect Orton to do something heinous to Big Show by the end of this match to further his “Legend Killer” persona and most likely move on to feud with WWE Champion, Drew McIntyre, leading into Summerslam.

The Horror Show At Extreme Rules Fallout

If there was one word to describe The Horror Show At Extreme Rules event it would be madness. Besides the WWE Championship match between Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler, everything involving the Raw brand on the show was madness. First, it started with the United States Championship match not taking place due to Apollo Crews being unable to compete. So now MVP is walking around calling himself the new United States champion, which the WWE does not acknowledge.

Then there was the Eye For An Eye match between Seth Rollins and Rey Mysterio. Rollins won by “yanking” Mysterio’s eye out which clearly looked ridiculous. WWE booked themselves into a corner with that stipulation and the ending of the match ruined a potential classic between these two great wrestlers.

Last, but definitely not least, was the Raw Women’s Championship match. Sasha Banks “defeated” Asuka after Bayley took the downed referee’s shirt, put it on, and made the three count for Banks. So is Sasha the new Raw Women’s Champion? This was another great match ruined by its ending. Clearly WWE made these decisions to get people to tune into Raw tonight to see how things will be handled. Ratings are at an all-time low and they are trying everything, no matter how ridiculously dumb it is, to get more viewers. I hope this doesn’t backfire on them because if they continue to make choices like this and confuse fans, they will keep losing viewers.
