At this time last year, Robert Whittaker was still the UFC Middleweight Champion. Then came his October title defense against Israel Adesanya, where he was knocked out in the second round. Whittaker has not fought since that fight and has only had 3 fights in the last years. While Whittaker was a great champion and beat the likes of Yoel Romero and Jacare Souza, he might have a little ring rust against Darren Till.
Till, however, has consistently taken fights over the last two years and all of those fights were against top tier opponents. Since October 2017, Till has faced “Cowboy” Cerrone, Stephen Thompson, Tyron Woodley, Jorge Masvidal, and Kelvin Gastelum. He has gone 3-2 in those fights, winning his last fight against Gastelum by decision.
Till facing all of these UFC stars and consistently fight training is the reason I think he takes down Robert Whittaker. Fans also have to take into account that neither of these men have had a fight yet during this pandemic so how they adjust to no crowds could be a factor in the fight. The fight should be very exciting as Whittaker and Till match up pretty evenly but in the end, Till wins by decision.
