Philadelphia 76ers Vs Brooklyn Nets Game Day Preview
The Brooklyn Nets are coming off their most dominating showing of the season with their last win at Home against the Utah Jazz.
Next up is an encounter with Joel Embiid, whose Philadelphia 76ers visit the Nets for a nationally televised contest.
The 76ers defeated Washington 141 – 136 last night and Head Coach Doc Rivers feels his team was lucky. “We were fortunate to win the game,” Sixers coach Doc Rivers said. “We’re fortunate to win the game, but we’re not going to win them all pretty. We’ll take a win, for sure.”
Doc and the boys are back at it tonight with a quick turnaround game in Brooklyn.
Philadelphia’s Joel Embiid has simply TOURCHED the Nets in the past. He will be matched up against Jarrett Allen and DeAndre Jordan. Embiid faced the Nets only once last season but it was a dominating performance. On Feb. 20 in Philadelphia when he rolled Brooklyn for 39 points and 16 rebounds. In that game, Allen battled Embiid for 13 minutes while Jordan netted 37 minutes against the big man!
Jarrett Allen is in form and ready for the fight! In a 130-96 WIN over Utah this past Wednesday, Allen collected season highs of 19 points and 18 rebounds. He also blocking Rudy Gobert twice and held him to 10 points.
“It’s a unique matchup,” Nets coach Steve Nash said after practice Tuesday. “(Embiid) is one of the biggest and most talented players in the league. There are not many Embiid-stoppers on the planet. So, I just want to see us work together. I want to see (Jarrett Allen) fight and scrap and claw and make it difficult for him.”
