NHL Game Day Preview – NJD Vs TBL
NHL Game Day Preview! The last time the New Jersey Devils (5-2-1) visited Amalie Arena, they walked off the ice hanging their heads. They did so because they were eliminated from the 2018 Stanley Cup Playoffs in five games. Of course this is a new hockey year! But with the playoff elimination still in mind, this game will have added meaning. Expect forward Marcus Johansson to be back into the lineup in place of Joey Anderson. Johansson is feeling much better after battling the flu the past few days. He has not had any new flu symptoms and is ready to roll.
The Tampa Bay Lightning (7-2-1) will also be entering tonight’s game with something to prove. The team suffered a crushing 7-1 defeat at the hands of the Arizona Coyotes this past Saturday. The team was sloppy and looked lackadaisical. From the loss, Coach Cooper confirmed that the Lightning will be without star defenseman Victor Hedman and forward Ondrej Palat. Both players have injuries and are unable to suit up tonight. Even with the injuries this club still has plenty of firepower leading into game time.
