NFL Fantasy Football 2020 Draft Tournaments

NFL Fantasy Football

The 2020 Draft is only two weeks away and StatementGames is running their special NFL Fantasy Football “Draft” tournaments.  It is looking like it will be the most unique draft in all of sports history. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the NFL Draft will be held over the internet. With social distancing guidelines still in effect in almost every state, the online draft was the only alternative to keeping the draft on schedule. There is no telling if this will actually work and go off without a hitch. You would have to think that some problems will arise with internet connectivity and teams trying to communicate with one another when on the “hot seat.”

There is a lot of talk around the league that many of the teams are unhappy with this solution. Teams are worried about numerous problems arising such as glitching and hacking since this has never been done before. The NFL Draft is also one of the biggest sporting events of the year and the idea to hold it over the internet is just something teams cannot get behind. Commissioner Roger Goodell is dead set on starting the NFL season on time with the full backing of President Trump. This is the main reason the NFL Draft is not being postponed for a later date like everything else in the sports world.

Absolute Locks of NFL Draft

As for the actual 2020 NFL Draft, it is all but certain QB Joe Burrow and DE Chase Young will be the top two picks. Burrow being the first pick has been expected for months. Winning the College Football National Championship solidified it. The Bengals would have to be crazy not to pick him with their ineffectiveness at the QB position. And arguably the most talented and gifted athlete in the draft is Young. These two men are 1 and 2 in almost every mock draft out there and that won’t change. But I don’t believe they are the top story of the draft.

Tua Tagovailoa

The top story of the draft is and always has been QB Tua Tagovailoa. Before suffering a severe hip injury, many analysts projected Tua to be the number one pick in this year’s draft. Tagovailoa is one of the most gifted quarterbacks of this generation. He knows how to manage a big game and make the big plays when needed most. But after suffering a couple of big injuries in the last year, teams are afraid he is not the same QB who won the College Football National Championship in 2018.

Tua has looked good in videos sent to NFL teams and scouts. He looks to be healthy but no one knows for sure. But I don’t see in any universe Tua falling past the top 6 picks. The Dolphins or Chargers will happily take a chance on a player of his caliber and the gifts he possesses. This is the perfect year to take a chance on a player like Tua. There is no certainty that the 2020 NFL season will start on time, if at all. There is still so much unknown about sports after the coronavirus pandemic. That means Tagovailoa could have even more time to heal from his injuries.

PickDraft 2020 NFL Draft Picks

NFL Fantasy FootballPickDraft is a small operation based out of California. The owners have played fantasy sports since the dawn of the 21st century, and have played DFS since its inception. They saw something missing in fantasy sports – the ability to root for a team’s success had become secondary to the individual performances in games. The definition of traditional fantasy sports is selecting individuals for your fantasy lineups, and we still offer that format.
