New York Yankees vs. Atlanta Braves Series Preview
The Yankees and the Braves face off in a two game series for the second time this month. Game one of this series was postponed due to rain so now there will be double header on Wednesday. The Yanks took both games last time these two teams faced off. Both teams get back some fire power as Aaron Judge and Ronald Acuna Jr. return to their respective lineups.
Both New York and Atlanta came into this season as favorites to win the World Series and while each team is almost a lock to make the playoffs, they are each dealing with the injury bug. Atlanta currently has 7 players on the IL, including stars Ozzie Albies, Mike Soroka, and Cole Hamels. As for New York, they have TEN men on the IL. That list includes some of the best players in ALL of baseball like Gleyber Torres, DJ Lemahieu, and Giancarlo Stanton.
It’s been next man up for both teams and for the most part they have been playing good baseball. Yankees’ pitcher, Gerrit Cole, will be putting his 20 game win streak on line in game one of the doubleheader, so expect plenty of Ks in this game and most likely a Yankee win. It is very hard to sweep a doubleheader so look for the Braves to win game two, especially with their best pitcher, Max Fried, on the hill. Aaron Judge is back so expect him to provide some theatrics in one, if not both, of the games. Before getting hurt, he was on a tear and looking like an early favorite for AL MVP.
