From a Miami Dolphins perspective, the playoffs start tomorrow night. With a highly competitive AFC, the Dolphins are sitting in the No. 7 slot, but face a tough road to make the playoffs with Baltimore right on their heals. The Silver and Black are on life support after an overtime loss to the Chargers. Coach Jon Gruden’s team has lost four of its last five games after a once solid 6-3 start.

If the Dolphins miss the playoffs, there will be questions about the timing of replacing Ryan Fitzpatrick with rookie Tua Tagovailoa. Since the move, Miami’s passing offense has regressed while the team has relied on its ability to get off the field on defense to win games. Tua protects the ball better however, he takes more sacks than Fitzpatrick did.
After playing Las Vegas, the Dolphins must travel to Buffalo, which has already clinched the AFC East crown.
“It’s good to kind of (go) through that and realize we’re still playing meaningful football,” Coach Brian Flores said.

Derek Carr has been taken off the Raiders injury list but it is still up in th air on who the Raiders will start at QB. Tagovailoa could go up be against fellow Honolulu St. Louis High School alum and Raiders backup quarterback Marcus Mariota.
“I think that would be awesome seeing Marcus (play) because me and (linebacker Kamu Grugier-Hill), we’re both from Hawaii,” Tagovailoa said when asked by reporters after Sunday’s win about the possibility of a potential all-Hawaii quarterback battle. “Marcus is from Hawaii. Me and Marcus went to the same high school. I think that (would) be something pretty cool, something special.”
