Los Angeles Rams Vs Seattle Seahawks Game Day Preview

The Los Angeles Rams and Seattle Seahawks split their two meetings this season. Los Angeles won 23-16 on Nov. 15 in LA while Seattle took game 2 at home in week 16 20-9.

The rubber match is all set for Saturday during NFL Wild Card weekend 2021.

The elephant in the room is the status of Rams QB Jared Goff. The franchise player injured his thumb in the week 16 match-up in Seattle. Shortly after the injury, surgery was performed making the Goff’s status for Saturday questionable.

Los Angeles coach Sean McVay was asked whether he had a timetable to determine who will start at quarterback for LA.

“Yeah,” McVay said. “Saturday at 1:39.” (PST)

John Wolford, who replaced Goff in week 17 will be behind the center should Goff be ruled out. Wolford helping the Rams clinch a playoff berth last week. With his performance, he became the first player in league history to throw for 200 yards while rushing for 50 in a debut.

“Jared is our starting quarterback — the reality is that he had a thumb surgery,” McVay said. “We’re monitoring that every single day, and that’s something we’re taking a day at a time, but the anticipation is both those guys are getting themselves ready to go.”

Seattle Seahawks

Russell Wilson and Tyler Lockett will lead the Seahawks on offense.

However, ther are some concerns on the defensive side of the ball. For instance, recent injuries to Jamal Adams and Jarran Reed make this team weaker.

Safety Jamal Adams set an NFL record for sacks by a defensive back with 9 1/2 . His left shoulder injury can effect his ability to tackle and blitz in what will be physical playoff game. Defensive Tackle Jarran Reed is second on the team with 6.5 sacks. His an oblique injury can effect Seattle’s ability to rush the QB at the point of attach. As a result of the injuries, both have already missed practice time this week.

However, Adams is not concerned. “Let’s get that out there — I’m full-go.”
