The 2020 NFL season is finally here and fans everywhere are celebrating like it’s Christmas! With the mess of a year 2020 has been, there was not much optimism that the 2020 NFL would start on time but against all the odds, the games, FOR NOW, will go on as regularly scheduled. The Houston Texans will face the reigning Super Bowl Champions, the Kansas City Chiefs, in the first game of the new season. Houston is looking for revenge after Kansas City made an unbelievable comeback against them in the playoffs on their way to winning the Super Bowl.
Texans
The Texans come into this season after being eliminated from the 2019-2020 NFL Playoffs by the Chiefs. It was the crazy that Houston was leading early and big but the incredible Patrick Mahomes lead Kansas City back from a big deficit and the Chiefs ultimately won big. Houston will led again by Deshaun Watson and expect him to have a big year. Watson has been getting better and better each season and it could be argued that he is the 2nd best QB in the league behind Mahomes. This game will be a high scoring affair as most games between these teams are so taking the OVER on most, if not all, of Watson’s offensive stats would not be a bad idea.
Chiefs
Patrick Mahomes is an offensive machine and might be the greatest QB we have ever seen. Coming off a Super Bowl win, he is determined to lead the Chiefs to back to back titles. So I’m calling it right now. Patrick Mahomes will once again win the MVP award this season. He is a man on a mission and after signing his record breaking contract this offseason, he is out to prove that he is worth every penny. Mahomes will throw for over 300 yards regularly this season so taking the OVER for his stats as well as his receiving core, especially Travis Kelce, would be a smart idea. As I said, this game will have a lot of scoring so a lot of OVERs will hit in this game.
