The Nets take on the Warriors for the second time this season. In their first matchup, the Nets won 125-99. Both teams are coming off of wins. On Wednesday, the Nets beat the Pacers 104-94, and the Warriors won on Thursday against the Magic 111-105.

Brooklyn Nets

The Nets are currently third in the Eastern Conference standings. They are 8-6 since receiving James Harden from Houston.

Since arriving in Brooklyn, Harden has played 13 games, averaging 39 minutes, 23.3 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 11.3 assists. Harden is averaging more than 10 points less compared to his last two seasons. However, he is averaging almost two rebounds more and around 5 assists more. Harden is averaging a double-double for only the second year in his career, but his three-point percentage is the lowest of Brooklyn’s big three.

Despite missing nine games for a multitude of reasons, Kyrie Irving averages 27.9 points this year, but just 4.6 rebounds and 5.9 assists. His points per game is a career-high for Irving, but his rebounds and assists per game are his lowest since the 2017-2018 season. One consistent part of Irving’s game is his three-point percentage which is at 41% this year.

Kevin Durant is returning to play in Golden State for the first time since he left them after the 2018-2019 season. Kevin Durant leads the nets with 29.5 points per game. Additionally, he has 7.4 rebounds and 5.2 assists per game. Durant averages the highest three-point percentage of the big three at 44.9%.

Brooklyn’s big three had two main concerns after the Nets acquired Harden. They were sharing the ball and defense.

They have proved so far that they can cooperate with just one ball. The largest contributing factor so far is Harden’s selflessness and high amount of assists. In doing so, the Nets have averaged 121.5 points in their last 10 games. Although that is a high number, they have given up an average of 119.4 in those same 10 games.

The only Nets new injuries coming into this game is DeAndre Jordan. He is out on Saturday. Jordan has been a staple in the Nets’ weak defense this year.

Golden State Warriors

Stephen Curry leads the Warriors averaging 30 points per game. Also, his three-point percentage is a whopping 43.5% Curry’s rebounds and assists per game have remained mostly consistent over the last few years. That remains true this year where he is averaging 5.5 rebounds and 5.9 assists per game.

Curry has not played more than 70 regular season games since the 2016-2017 season. Despite his lack of games played, Curry is back at 100% this year in his 12th year in the league.

The Warriors’ highest rebounder is the rookie, James Wiseman. The second overall pick is averaging 12.2 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 0.7 assists per game. Although he is a 7 foot tall center, Wiseman has hit 40.9% of his threes this season.

Draymond Green is averaging a team-high eight assists. His points per game and rebounds per game are down this season to 5.1. His field goal percentage this season is the second-lowest in his career. at 35.3%

Andrew Wiggins, and Kelly Oubre are the only other Warriors to average more than 10 points per game. They average 17.6 and 13.8 points per game respectively.
