AEW Dynamite 5/13 Show Preview
AEW Dynamite is back this week from Daily’s Place in Jacksonville, FL. The wrestling company is less than two weeks away from the Double or Nothing pay per view and the card is starting to take shape. The AEW Championship match for the pay per view was made last week on Dynamite. It will be champion, Jon Moxley, versus the “Exalted One” Mr. Brodie Lee. Also last week on Dynamite, Inner Circle members, Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara, defeated Matt Hardy and Kenny Omega. This week, Hardy and Omega will take on more on the Inner Circle when they face Santana and Ortiz.
Santana & Ortiz vs. Matt Hardy & Kenny Omega
Last week’s Dynamite match between Le Sex Gods, Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara, and Kenny Omega and Matt Hardy was one of the most entertaining matches in AEW’s short history. With it being a street fight, the mens’ creativity was really put to good use. Le Sex Gods came out on top when the rest of the Inner Circle interfered on their behalf. Now this week, it’s Santana and Ortiz who will face Omega and Hardy.
The Inner Circle has been feuding with The Elite since the very first episode of Dynamite last October. Matt Hardy entered the feud back in March which took the rivalry to a new level. With AEW working with a lighter roster due to the coronavirus and it’s social distancing measures, Kenny Omega has been the only member of the Elite on the radar of the Inner Circle. Which is why Omega has been pairing with Hardy lately. Hardy wants a one on one match with Inner Circle leader, Chris Jericho.
To get to Jericho, Hardy and Omega will have to go through Santana and Ortiz first. Just like last week, Hardy and Omega will have a great match against Inner Circle members. These four are some of the best workers in the business so this match is likely to steal the show. Also expect a couple of Double or Nothing matches to be announced revolving around these two factions.
Brodie Lee vs. Christopher Daniels
Ever since being revealed as the “Exalted One” of the Dark Order, Brodie Lee has been a major force in AEW. And last week on Dynamite, Lee set his sights on AEW’s main man, AEW Champion Jon Moxley. Lee and his “cult” like stable attacked Moxley after Moxley’s match with Frankie Kazarian. After pummeling Moxley, Lee challenged him to a title match at Double or Nothing. After making the challenge, Lee proceeded to steal the title belt from Moxley. Now this week, Lee faces Christopher Daniels in a match that has been a long time coming.
Daniels has been feuding with the Dark Order for months and at one point, was one of the names being thrown around as potentially being the “Exalted One.” Daniels was attacked by Lee on the night Lee debuted and they have yet to settle that score. With Lee being the next challenger for the AEW title, he will need decisive wins leading up to that match so a dominating match here against Daniels is likely. Daniels is not the “5-Star” wrestler he used to be so expect this match to be one of the shorter ones on the show. Also expect Moxley to appear as he wants his title back and revenge for last week’s attack.
