WWE Raw 7/13 Show Preview
It’s the last Raw before The Horror Show At Extreme Rules event this Sunday and Raw is filled with grudge matches. The WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, Bayley & Sasha Banks, will defend their titles against The Kabuki Warriors. This is just 6 days before Sasha Banks challenges Asuka for her Raw Women’s Championship at Extreme Rules. There will be a Wrestlemania rematch Monday night as Kevin Owens goes one on one with Seth Rollins. This will be a tune up match for Rollins before he faces Rey Mysterio in an Eye For An Eye match Sunday. The other two grudge matches being promoted for Raw are Andrade & Angel Garza versus the Viking Raiders and Randy Orton facing R-Truth.
Bayley & Sasha Bank vs. The Kabuki Warriors – WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Match
The Women’s division of WWE has been carrying the company through the tough time caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Monday night will be more of the same as Bayley & Sasha Banks, probably the two most valuable stars right now in the WWE, defending their Women’s Tag Team Championship against the Kabuki Warriors, Asuka & Kairi Sane. The feud between these two teams has been raging for weeks, ever since Sasha challenged Asuka for her Raw Women’s Championship at the upcoming Extreme Rules event.
Bayley, Sasha Banks, and Asuka have all been on their “A” game for months now so any time they share a ring or promo together, it’s must-see. And now with Kairi Sane back at 100% after being injured, we are being given a great tag match on Raw. With the roll these women have been on lately, this match should be given the main event spot on this week’s episode. And since Bayley & Sasha Banks can only appear on every show as long as they are Tag Champions, I see them retaining their titles here. They have been too valuable to Raw, NXT, and Smackdown so if they lose the titles, they can not appear on Raw or NXT due to the brand split rules. Regardless of a somewhat predictable outcome, this will be a fun, memorable match if properly booked.
Kevin Owens vs. Seth Rollins
Kevin Owens versus Seth Rollins was one of the best matches of Wrestlemania 36 this year. The two finally met one on one after a feud that lasted months after Rollins turned on Owens. So that led to a No Disqualification match at the biggest show of the year. Owens and Rollins battled for over 17 minutes with Owens coming away victorious after an amazing elbow drop off the Wrestlemania sign that put Rollins through an announce table. That led to Owens hitting Rollins with a Stunner and the 3 count for the win. So these two men have plenty of history with one another.
On Monday night, Rollins has a shot to get some redemption from his loss to Owens. Also, Rollins will be trying to build momentum going into his match with Rey Mysterio at Extreme Rules. So with Rollins being involved in a major storyline and match going into the event Sunday, he needs to walk away with a win here. Another loss to Owens before a big match Sunday would not make much sense, especially when WWE is short on major credible heels these days. Still, this will be another great match between these two that will be help fans get through Raw’s long 3 hour show.
