WWE Raw 4/20 Show Preview

WWE Raw continues to build towards the Money In The Bank pay per view this week. Although Money In The Bank will no longer take place in Baltimore, it will still take place. It has been announced that the Money in the Bank matches will take place at WWE headquarters in Bristol, CT. That alone builds amazing intrigue for a show that rarely needs it. Raw will commence from the WWE Performance it what has become the normal for WWE.

Money In The Bank Qualifying Matches

Raw will feature the men’s Money In The Bank (MITB) qualifying matches. The MITB bank match is one of the most entertaining matches the WWE holds. It’s almost guaranteed whoever wins the MITB contract ends up winning one of the main championships in WWE and the match has made the careers of legends like Edge, CM Punk, and Daniel Bryan.

The first match of the qualifiers is MVP versus Apollo Crews. This match is a building block for Apollo Crews. After having a fantastic match with Aleister Black a couple of weeks ago, Crews might be destined for good things. MVP looks to be the right veteran to give Crews a nice win against a credible opponent.

Next up is Aleister Black against Austin Theory. While Theory has come out of nowhere and become a part of Raw every week recently, Black is on another level. From the fans to executives backstage, everyone sees the potential Aleister Black has to become a major star in this industry. Showcasing Black in the MITB match seems like a given. This match will be high paced and full throttle from beginning to end so I expect it to be match of the night.

But if any other match can contend with Black versus Theory for match of the night, it’s Rey Mysterio facing off against Murphy. This is the most unpredictable of the 3 since both men could do great things in the MITB match and could both use it. Mysterio was left off Wrestlemania even though he’s a pretty big legacy star. Murphy has many fans backstage and like Black, could use the MITB as a showcase of his vast skills. This will be an amazing match from start to finish.

Seth Rollins Next In Line for WWE Championship Match?

I wrote last week that we would find out really soon who would be next in line for Drew McIntyre’s WWE Championship and it seems we got our answer. After his match with Andrade, McIntyre was blindsided by Seth Rollins and curb stomped twice. Rollins seems to have found a new edge after losing to Kevin Owens at ‘Mania.

McIntyre versus Rollins would be a great first program for the new champ. Rollins is the top heel on the Raw brand at the moment as well as it’s best worker. A feud over the next couple of months with Rollins could do great things for McIntyre. It could build his credibility with the great matches he and Rollins could produce. They could also work their backstory of both being former NXT champions into the story. We should have more answers on this edition of Raw.
