Smackdown Tag Team Title Elimination Chamber Match

The normal 6 person Elimination Chamber match is as hectic a match that can be, but add 6 TAG TEAMS to the chamber and it is straight up chaos. The Smackdown Tag Team Title chamber match promises to be the most grueling match of the night with 6 hungry teams trying to outlast each other and become champions. A 6 team gauntlet match this past Friday on Smackdown saw Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode win to become the last entrants into the chamber, giving them an advantage the other teams.

The Smackdown Tag Champs, Miz & Morrison, just recently beat the New Day in Saudi Arabia to become the champions. Miz & Morrison losing the titles so suddenly would be shocking but I expect they will retain as they have only been champions for less than two weeks. The wildcard in this match is Heavy Machinery. They have been featured prominently on Smackdown recently, especially Otis in his storyline with Mandy Rose, and they also looked very good in the gauntlet match on Smackdown. If they don’t pull off the upset, I can see them having a hand in a few eliminations.

Raw Women’s Elimination Chamber Match for Raw Women’s Title Match at Wrestlemania

This match became very intriguing this week. The whole lead up to this match and the Raw Women’s Title match at Wrestlemania has been about Shayna Baszler and champion, Becky Lynch. The match has been over a year in the making with Becky Lynch beating Baszler’s real life best friend, Ronda Rousey, at Wrestlemania last year. Then at this past Survivor Series, Baszler beat BOTH Becky Lynch and Bayley to establish her dominance on the WWE Women’s division. But then Shayna debuted on Raw by biting(?) Becky Lynch on the neck and that did not go over well with fans clamoring for this match-up.

So this past week, the wrestling dirt sheets reported that Vince McMahon has not been happy with the reaction Baszler has been getting from crowds and is now second guessing if she should be in a high profiled match with Lynch at Mania. This is typical WWE. They change the script more than a new mother changes diapers. They were handed this dream match on a golden platter, botched the execution and now they don’t know what to do. This ENTIRE match was essentially based for Shayna Baszler to dominate and go on to face Lynch, but now there is clear uncertainty with that.

None of the other women in this match make sense to face Lynch, especially on a big stage like Wrestlemania. I’m still going to Baszler based on that notion but WWE likes to swerve the fans all the time so Baszler winning is not the guarantee it was two weeks ago. I also expect Asuka to dominate in this match as she is other biggest female talent in this match.
