NFL Fantasy Football 2020 Draft Tournaments

NFL Fantasy Football

The 2020 NFL Draft has finally arrived and football fans everywhere couldn’t be more excited. With the COVID-19 pandemic still affecting our country, people had needed numerous forms of entertainment to keep their minds off the uncertainty these times bring. Although many of the NFL teams are not happy about holding the draft at this time, football fans are happy they get to lose themselves in the draft for the next few days.

The reason the NFL teams and their personnel are not happy about the draft taking place on schedule is due to the social distancing protocols put in effect by the government. Due to these protocols, the NFL Draft will be taking place online. The NFL held a mock draft earlier this week to test the process and many sources said it went terrible from the initial pick. Apparently bandwidth issues are going to be a challenge so many would be shocked if this went off without a hitch. This could cause more chaos than the NFL needs right now with them already dealing with the possibility of the season being postponed due the coronavirus.

But anyways, the draft is here! What team will make that big pick that could potentially turn their franchise around? Which teams will further bolster their rosters to make a run at the championship? Those questions and more will start to be answered Thursday night.

Who Are The Big Names Of The Draft?

For the 2020 NFL Draft, it is all but certain QB Joe Burrow and DE Chase Young will be the top two picks. Burrow being the first pick has been expected for months. Winning the College Football National Championship solidified it. The Bengals would have to be crazy not to pick him with their ineffectiveness at the QB position. And arguably the most talented and gifted athlete in the draft is Young. These two men are 1 and 2 in almost every mock draft out there and that won’t change.

QB Justin Herbert from Oregon will also be a top 10 pick in the draft. WR Jerry Jeudy should be taken in the top half of the first round due to the talent he possesses as well as being one of the two elite wide receivers in the draft with Oklahoma’s CeeDee Lamb being the other. But I don’t believe these men are the top story of the draft.

Who Will Draft Tua Tagovailoa?

The top story of the draft is and always has been QB Tua Tagovailoa. Before suffering a severe hip injury, many analysts projected Tua to be the number one pick in this year’s draft. Tagovailoa is one of the most gifted quarterbacks of this generation. He knows how to manage a big game and make the big plays when needed most. But after suffering a couple of big injuries in the last year, teams are afraid he is not the same QB who won the College Football National Championship in 2018.

Their have been mixed reactions to the videos Tua’s reps sent to NFL teams and scouts. He “looks” to be healthy but no one knows for sure. But I can’t see Tua falling past the top 6 picks. The Dolphins or Chargers will happily take a chance on a player of his caliber and the gifts he possesses. But if he does fall past these teams, imagine if he fell all the way down to the Patriots? Could he be the man that replaces the irreplaceable Tom Brady? That would be an amazing storyline for the upcoming season and seasons to come.

This is the perfect year to take a chance on a player like Tua. There is no certainty that the 2020 NFL season will start on time, if at all. There is still so much unknown about sports after the coronavirus pandemic. That means Tagovailoa could have even more time to heal from his injuries.
