The Milwaukee Bucks have been the best team in the NBA so far this year. They have one of the most complete lineups from top to bottom in the NBA with two All Stars leading the way. They have won 10 of their last 11 games and have maintained the best record in the NBA for a majority of the season. Milwaukee has not lost in New Orleans since December of 2017.
The Bucks are top 5 as a team in almost every statistical category this year. They are 1st in points, field goal percentage, and rebounds per game. 3rd in blocks and assists per game and 4th in 3 pointers made. The Bucks also have the best road record in the NBA at 19-4. Milwaukee is on pace to be only the 3rd team in NBA history to win 70 games in a season.
One of the main reasons for the Bucks success is that they have been able to stay healthy this season. The only star questionable to play against the Pelicans is George Hill. Hill was projected to miss at least a couple of games with a hamstring injury. He missed Friday’s game against the Nuggets and Sunday’s game against the Suns.
The Pelicans are 20-30 on the season but they are a team who are better than their record shows. They were missing a huge part of their starting lineup with Williamson missing half the season with a knee injury. They also unfortunately play in a stacked Western Conference where 5 teams are within 5 games of the 8th spot in the playoffs. New Orleans has won 3 out of their past 4 games.
The Pelicans are 6th in scoring this year in the NBA, which without Zion is pretty impressive since they have young team still learning to play with each other. They are 3rd in 3 pointers made and 4th in 3 point percentage. With the Pelicans returning to full force, the Pelicans are going to stay in most games as they are 3-3 since Zion debuted. Losing those 3 games by an average of 6.3 points.
