Although the 76ers have, arguably, underperformed to this point in the season, this should still be a fun matchup as they could undoubtedly still make a deep playoff run. Of course, Lakers have had an absolutely dominant first half of the season.

Matching up against the 76ers will be an easier task for the Lakers with Joel Embiid indefinitely unavailable for the 76ers. The Lakers are huge, especially in their starting five and are a solid defensive team. They have played exceptionally well when they are the visiting team by having the third-best road record in the NBA, behind only the Milwaukee Bucks and Dallas Mavericks.
Anthony Davis is leading the Lakers in scoring so far this season with 26.6 PPG with LeBron James not too far behind at 25.1. The absence of Embiid in the paint will make it just that much easier for AD and James to do their thing down low.
76ers
Directly on the opposite of the home and away power ratings from the Lakers are the 76ers. They have been the third-best team in the NBA playing for their home crowd. Philadelphia is arguably the most hostile environment to visit in the Eastern Conference. Whether the veteran-heavy Lakers team will be affected remains to be seen, but it’s a safe bet that they’ll handle it just fine.
Currently, the 76ers are sitting 23rd in possessions per game rankings with 102.4. The Lakers are 23rd in the category with 103.9. The quicker style of play that Philly adopts without Jojo on the floor should help them in their attempt to hand the Lakers a loss. Especially when the three-ball is involved, those extra 1.5 possessions could have a real impact.
If the 76ers want to have any hope of winning this game, they are going to have to do their best to take advantage of matchups that don’t involve LeBron James or Anthony Davis on defense and space the floor well making sure to get high percentage looks.
