2019-20 Playoff Fantasy Hockey Update

We are inching closer to the possible return of the NHL and Fantasy Playoff Hockey.  The league is set to enter into phase 3 of the scheduled return on July 10th.  On this date, 24 teams will report to training camp for a series of mini training sessions.  The length of team training camps has yet to be determined but all estimations are pointing that after a few weeks, the teams will travel to their designated Hub cities and resume the 2019-20 NHL season.

The NHL designated HUB cities are also still in the process of being finalized.  Recently, it has been determined that cities like Pittsburgh, Dallas & Columbus have been eliminated from consideration.  Regardless, it is time to start thinking about revised office hockey pools and your Playoff Fantasy Hockey draft.        

NHL 2019-20 Playoff Fantasy Hockey – Overview

We are looking at basic fantasy hockey scoring systems.  Systems in which you are getting points for goals, assists and goalie WINS.  Bonuses would be awarded for hat tricks and shutouts.  As we created our list, factors such as past playoff performance, injuries, defensive pairings and line combinations have been considered.  We have also considered that certain players are facing a short initial best of 5 game series while the top teams will be playing more games.  Top teams like the Boston Bruins, Tampa Bay Lightning, Washington Capitals, Philadelphia Flyers, St. Louis Blues, Colorado Avalanche, Vegas Golden Knights & Dallas Stars by default have a greater probability of playing more games.  These teams will play initial games for seeding without facing the possibility of elimination.
