2019-20 NBA Playoffs & Fantasy Basketball Update

The re-start of the NBA season is slated for July 31, 202022 organizations will start their respective training camps on the 30th of June.  Upon completion of a brief mini-camp, each select team will report to the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Florida on the 7th of July. From that point, teams will have another few weeks of camp to work themselves back into basketball shape before tip-off on July 31.

We still need to navigate through a number of moving parts before we see a NBA season return.  COVID-19 is spiking in the state of Florida.  Will this variable factor into the return to play equation?  Other social injustice concerns could also play a role in an individual players desire to return to action.

From a season long Fantasy Basketball perspective, the only fair thing to do was to conclude the 2019-2020 season.  DFS players with teams consisting of players on organizations like the Charlotte Hornets, Chicago Bulls, New York Knicks, Detroit Pistons, Atlanta Hawks, Cleveland Cavaliers, Minnesota Timberwolves & Golden State Warriors will not be able to play any of these players.  NBA fans looking for action can look at gambling services and alternative forms of Fantasy Basketball once / if the league returns to play.

NBA Fantasy Basketball Options

NBA Fantasy Basketball

Two options for NBA Fantasy Basketball league commissioners to take into consideration should they choose to simply end / conclude their fantasy season:

Option #1 – Go ahead and restructure your prize distribution schedule.  We have come across players who have clinched all regular season prizes a league provides.  Even with everything clinched, they will not be taking a full cut of the prize pot.  A portion of the prize pot will be re-allocated to teams that were playoff eligible or in striking distance of becoming playoff eligible.  This tactic may upset a team that is significantly ahead in the standings, but league commissioners are responsible for making tough choices.  We just need to respect the final decisions they make.

Option #2 – Take a look at StatementGames which is offering an alternative form of FREE 2 Play Fantasy Basketball!  This platform gives leagues an opportunity to lock into individual NBA Playoff games and draft OVER / UNDER prop basketball picks.  Fans will receive points that become correct and the individual with the most points from correct picks at the end of an NBA contest WINS.  The One-Minute overview video found here will demonstrate how to play.  Have fun with this Fantasy Basketball Twist!
