Both the Warriors and Bucks are coming off tough losses. This matchup will pit two players who have won back-to-back MVPs in the last seven years (Giannis Antetokounmpo & Curry) as Stephen Curry makes his Christmas Day return after missing a majority of last season with a broken left hand.
Golden State Warriors
During the Golden State Warriors’ blowout in Brooklyn on the opening night of the NBA season, it was clear Steve Kerr’s rotation missed Draymond Green.
The three-time All-Star missed Golden State’s opener after suffering an injury in his right foot during a practice scrimmage at training camp. Although Green traveled on Golden State’s opening road trip, the former Defensive Player of the Year has been ruled out for his second consecutive game to start the season.
Milwaukee Bucks
The Bucks are also coming off a heart-breaker. They did come back and erase 10 point deficits in Boston but Giannis Antetokounmpo could only make 1 or 2 free throws with his team trailing by 2 with 0.4 seconds left in regulation. It was an absolute crushing loss at the hands of the Boston Celtics. Fear The Dear will look to get their first win of the season on Christmas Day.
On the bright side, Jrue Holiday had a huge Bucks debut, finishing the night with 25 points, six rebounds and three assists.
Milwaukee opened the game strong, but a dominant second-quarter performance from Jaylen Brown, followed by poor defense in the third quarter allowed the Celtics to work up leads that simply could not be overcome.
