Arnold Palmer Invitational – 3 PGA Players To Watch

Tyrrell Hatton – is a strong player in this week field. Winning at Bay Hill last March sparked a torrid run for Hatton. When he resumed play after a 15-week break, Hatton finished T3 and T4 in his first two starts (RBC Heritage and Rocket Mortgage Classic). Since June, he posted his fifth and sixth European Tour victories – the BMW PGA Championship last fall and Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship in January – amid a handful of other top-10 worldwide finishes.

Rickie Fowler – Fowler, whose last victory came at the 2019 Waste Management Phoenix Open, has missed the cut in 10 of his last 23 starts, dating back to last year’s Farmers Insurance Open, and he has just one top-10 during that span.

“It’s very frustrating,” the 32-year-old five-time PGA Tour winner said Tuesday at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. “It’s made it at times tough between Joe (Caddie) and I on the course. We have a great relationship, we have known each other for a long time, but when I’m out there and I’m not hitting shots that I’m visualizing and seeing, it’s hard. It’s tough for all of us that are involved, from my caddie, to my wife—she’s having to deal with me at home.”

Many golf insiders pegged Sam Burns as a future star when he turned professional in the fall of 2017 after a prolific collegiate career at LSU.

After a couple of inconsistent years on the PGA Tour, Burns appears ready to reach that potential. He logged two top-10 results during the swing season and has carried that positive momentum into the new year, posting a career-best third-place finish at the Genesis Invitational two weeks ago. Burns will attempt to keep things going at Bay Hill, a course on which he’s made the cut in all three of his previous starts.
