AEW Dynamite 4/15 Show Preview
All Elite Wrestling Dynamite comes to us from an unknown location in Georgia for the second consecutive week. AEW, just like their rival WWE, is continuing to provide new content for wrestling fans weekly in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. This week’s Dynamite is shaping up to be pay per view worthy. We will see the next match in the TNT Championship tournament AND an AEW Heavyweight Championship match as well.
Jon Moxley vs. Jake Hager for AEW Heavyweight Championship
Jon Moxley versus Jake Hager is one of the most anticipated matches in AEW’s short history. The two are former heavyweight champions from the WWE and are arguably the two biggest signings in AEW history. Moxley defeated Hager’s Inner Circle stablemate, Chris Jericho, for the AEW Heavyweight Championship at AEW Revolution back in Febuary. The video packages made to promote this match have been amazing. Both men have looked like bonafide stars in them which is exactly what AEW needs. This is Hager’s first big test in the promotion as he just started competing in matches in February. With this match being in an empty arena and no holds barred, expect it to be brutal. This should be the main event of the show with it also being the longest match of the night as well.
Lance Archer vs. Colt Cabana – TNT Championship First Round Match
While Moxley and Hager were AEW’s two big signings last year, Lance Archer and Brodie Lee have been the big two so far this year. Archer will be in action Wednesday night in the first round of the TNT Championship tournament. His opponent will be indie darling Colt Cabana, who also recently debuted with the company as well. While Cabana is talented and liked by many, this tournament feels like it was made to build Archer’s star power. He has a brewing feud with top star Cody which makes the tournament bracket somewhat predictable. They are each on opposite sides and can only meet in the championship match, which is likely to happen. So expect Archer to beat Cabana in dominating fashion so he can look like a strong favorite moving forward in the tourney.
