AEW Dynamite 6/17 Show Preview

This week’s Dynamite is all about tag team wrestling. Since the day All Elite Wrestling was created, it was said that tag team wrestling would be a cornerstone for the company. With teams like The Young Bucks, the Lucha Bros, Kenny Omega & Hangman Page, Best Friends, and more, they established right off the bat that AEW would have the best tag team division on the planet. But now with the arrival of FTR, things are about to get taken up a notch.

There will be 3 tag team matches on this week’s Dynamite, each with big implications on the tag team division moving forward. Kenny Omega & Hangman Page will defend the AEW Tag Team Championship against The Natural Disasters. Le Sex Gods will face Best Friends to determine who will face the tag champs at the Fyter Fest event. Lastly, The Young Bucks go up against the Superbad Squad in attempt for each team to move up the tag rankings.

Kenny Omega & Hangman Page vs. Natural Nightmares For The AEW Tag Team Championship

While the Tag Team Championship will be on line, this seems to be another tune up match for the champs, Kenny Omega & Hangman Page. The Tag Team champs are clearly the better team in this match and seem to be on a collision course with the team that ends the night as number one contenders. Omega and Page are both main event single stars that were paired together and became tag team champions. It will take more than Dustin Rhodes and QT Marshall to dethrone the champs.

The Natural Disasters will have to bring their top game if they want to have a chance at winning the titles. But that might be a problem since QT Marshall has easily been distracted by Allie the last few weeks. Allie’s involvement with Marshall is starting to cause tension among the Natural Disasters and I wouldn’t be shocked if this is the reason they lose their match Wednesday. Regardless, this will be a great match and will probably main event the night.

Le Sex Gods vs. Best Friends For #1 Contender For AEW Tag Team Championship

Best Friends are looking to keep their number one contendership status as well as get revenge when they face Le Sex Gods. Le Sex Gods, Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara, along with the rest of the Inner Circle bloodied Best Friends’ comrade, Orange Cassidy, on Dynamite last week. The attack was a response to Cassidy’s funny antics towards the Inner Circle in recent weeks. That attack looks to be leading towards a match between Jericho and Cassidy at Fyter Fest.

That’s why I see Best Friends winning this match. Jericho will not be wrestling twice at Fyter Fest and if he wins this match, that would have to happen. I see those same antics from Cassidy that Jericho despises costing him and Guevara this match and officially setting up a one on one match between Chris Jericho and Orange Cassidy. As with the rest of the tag division matches, this will be another match that keeps fans very entertained.
